LED Throwie

We both went to various stores across Madison, looking for a spider to use.  We were able to find one at the Shopko to use.  We then went back to Sean’s dorm and rigged the spider with LED’s and a magnet.  Next we took our creation to the TC and threw it on the sliding doors.  We wanted to see if the spider with glowing eyes would scare someone as they walk out of the TC. 

During our experiment, almost everyone saw the spider as they walked through the first pair of doors, and laughed at it when they walked through the second pair of doors.  After about 10 minutes, we were able to scare at least one girl walking out of the TC. 

As you can see in the video, (Video is in slower motion) we were able to get her reaction.  We were originally hoping to scare more people, but unfortunately we were unable to.  We did in fact put it on the first pair of doors, but to many people noticed it approaching the doors.  Also, when the door was opening, it was harder for people to see if, like if multiple people were walking out in succession.  If the door was closed and one person walked through, we were able to get our footage.
